What customers say?

“ This restaurant is most definitely Michelin star worthy . Best Indian food that I have luckily found to date . ”

“ From the iced water to the after eights offered with the bill, this was a delightful experience. The food was excellent, tasty and well cooked. Service was very attentive and friendly. Definitely recommend having a meal here. ”

- Vivien Meis -

“ Overall the experience was very good apart from the fact that we checked their website before going down as we wanted to avail of the early bird menu but when we got there we were told it was not available. The food was top notch. The tika masala was a bit sweeter than we expected and was quite tomatoey. I had a lamb bunani which I really enjoyed. The bill was €70 euro for a starter main and a drink each which wasn't the best value in the area but the food was gorgeous and the service was very quick. ”

“ Wow! We weren't expecting to find such delicious Indian food in Ireland! The place is on the top floor so you might miss the entrance. Once you enter the restaurant, you are transported to India through the decor and delicious smells. We tried the pre fixe menu since we were a larger group. It was perfect. We were able to try all the appetizers and had an individual entree serving. The waiters were super helpful and attentive. We would definitely go back if we lived in Ireland! ”

“ Great place to dine, authentic Indian restaurant in a Central location in portlaoise. The place is lovely looking, mirrors, lights, and artwork really add to the atmosphere, can't fault the staff who were great, food amazing, kids menu also, would definitely recommend, we went on a Monday afternoon so the place was very quiet but I'd imagine it gets a lot busier closer to the weekends, top notch ”

“ Absolutely brilliant place with authentic Indian taste. Definitely a go to place if you are craving authentic Indian. Samosa being modified to local palate was a letdown but based on recommendation from the restaurant we didn’t order it and went with other options. But I wish I had some authentic samosas! Other dishes were absolutely delicious and although the dessert I ordered was top notch I wish there were more authentic indian desserts. I think this restaurant is by far one of the top 5 Indian restaurants in Ireland. Will certainly return and highly recommended. ”

“ We've eaten out of here for as long as I can remember. For the last while everything seems to have changed a lot. While some of the food is still quite tasty, some meals have gone quite bland (chicken madras being one of them) The price changes have raised a lot and It seems they're going up all the time. There's not even any dips with poppadoms anymore. I'm not sure if it's been taken over. It's really disappointing because we would have normally eaten here every week but unfortunately it's no longer possible. I understand prices have gone up across the board but it seems prices here are constantly going up and like mentioned above, taking away some condiments when increasing prices is a little disappointing. ”

“ We had a fantastic dinner at Mayur in Portlaoise. The butter chicken was rich and creamy, the lamb biryani was beautifully aromatic, and the mixed kebabs were packed with flavour. The presentation was lovely, the atmosphere cosy, and the service warm and attentive. Overall, a delicious experience. ”
